(Video): Estevao’s 95th minute winner beats Liverpool at Stamford Bridge

They’ve done it! Chelsea have won it in the 97th minute at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have been excellent for the last 15 minutes, and they’ve got their reward. The signs are getting banged hard around the upper tier of the stadium as our great run at home against Liverpool continues.

A few bad misses and unlucky moments meant a win felt unlikely as time ticked on – but finally they got their reward. And it’s come from the most exciting source possible.

Estevao has his latest magic moment to inspire Chelsea to win

Cucurella stayed forward in his typical inverted pocket position after an attack and had a ball threaded through to him by Enzo Fernandez, who did well to stay patient and wait for the right opportunity.

Liverpool had looked more and more nervy, and this defending was their low point. They were close to a point but blew it.

Cucurella turned, dashed in behind and played a perfect ball across the box. He threaded it between the goalkeeper and the deepest defender. All it needed was a runner at the back post – something that had been lacking in previous chances. This time there was one – Estevao Willian, remember the name.

He was there beating Andy Robertson to the ball and sliding in to put the ball into the net and truly announce himself in the Premier League.

What a moment for him and for everyone at Stamford Bridge. Enzo Maresca ran down the touchline to celebrate with his players, for which he was given a second booking and was sent off. He won’t mind – it was worth it for what could be a defining goal in this season, and maybe even his Chelsea spell.

  1. Taylor as the center referee of a Chelsea match never boards we’ll, never understood whether FA has inadequate referees.why give its coach a red card when he is openly biased. Why can’t he recluse himself if ut must be him!
