Refereeing mistakes have cost us again

Chelsea were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Southampton which sparked outrage with Jose Mourinho yesterday, but there was even more frustration when Cesc Fabregas was caught by defender Matt Targett inside the 6 yard box.

The Spaniard should have been awarded a penalty but all he got in return was yellow card and this sparked real anger amongst Chelsea team including Jose Mourinho who said, “The incident is part of campaign against his team.”

Jose Mourinho was furious knowing that having worked at in other league countries, a matter or even a decision of this scale would have made a headline.

“In other countries, where I worked before, tomorrow in the sports paper, it would be front page scandal, because it is an actual scandal, and it is not a small penalty but it is a penalty like Big Ben.”

Both Cesc Fabregas and his coach seemed to agree on the fact that referee Taylor had a really bad day at the office and also that the big mistake stemmed from the ongoing campaign against his team on the matter of diving.

Should we remember, that Diego Costa was the first Chelsea player to have been booked with a yellow card when it should have been a red card for Burnley. A few months later,  both defenders Branislav Ivanovic and Gary Cahill were criticised for going down too easily and yesterday, Chelsea loose two points when the penalty should be awarded and Fabregas gets a yellow card for it.

Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho said, “It is obvious that there is an actual campaign against us. People, pundits, commentators, coaches from other teams react with Chelsea in a way they don’t react to other teams and this is affecting us.

The next game for the blues will be a London derby on New Years day, when they travel to White Hart Lane and will be hoping this time that the referee wont have any more mistakes that can cost them the game.
