Mourinho speaks about Cuadrado’s future

In the same interview where he spoke on Falcao’s future, Jose Mourinho opened up about fellow Colombian star Juan Cuadrado, and his Chelsea future. In the discussion, the Chelsea boss admits that Cuadrado does indeed have a future at the West London club.

The project it’ll take to bring the winger back to his best may be a smaller one compared to the work that’ll need doing on Falcao, but they both need a boost in their self-esteem and their ego. Confidence is another issue, according to the Portuguese manager.

Speaking to Goal, Mourinho said:

Cuadrado is not going anywhere this summer. People don’t know Cuadrado yet, I have seen him many times when we were both in Italy, me at Inter and him at Udinese.

“Because of that I have a lot of hopes for him for next season. I hope in the Copa America he can regain his self-esteem, his ego and that he has that joy of playing.”

His quotes are obviously based at helping the Colombian duo fulfil the potential they still own, and helping them solve any issues they may have. In Colombia’s last game, Cuadrado assisted Falcao, something we may look back upon in the future as a turning point.

To the point, Mourinho was speaking about ‘this summer.’ So, if a winger like Cuadrado isn’t meeting his potential by January 2016, you can probably expect him to depart.
