According to Goal, Chelsea have agreed to send young duo Thomas Kalas and Nathan Ake on loan to Championship side Middlesbrough for the 2015/16 season.
The Czech Republic international and 20-year-old Dutchman, will be sent to Jose Mourinho’s friend and Boro boss Aitor Karanka, to get some regular football under their belt.
Kalas was on loan at the Riverside Stadium last season, and was impressive during his 17 appearances.
Ake made a brief appearance at fellow Championship side Reading, featuring five times during April to secure football in the 2nd tier of English football for next season.
Both youngsters are well down Jose Mourinho’s pecking order in West London, so going out on loan is the best option. Karanka was Mourinho’s assistant at Real Madrid, hence the loans to the Championship side he now manages.
Kalas was joined on loan at Boro last season by both Kenneth Omeruo and Patrick Bamford.
