Plenty of speculation has been surrounding the future of Atletico Madrid’s Arda Turn, and neither club nor player want it to drag out across the summer, reports Spanish media outlet, AS.
On their return from a trip to China, Atleti bosses spoke to Turan to see if the comments made by his agent, Ahmet Bulut, made to AS were true.
In a relaxed manner, the Turkish international confirmed that he wants a change of scene, and to leave La Liga. It seems as though he has had an offer from a Ligue 1 side, which is an option.
The winger is keen to seek a new challenge, a new adventure – something he’s had since he was a boy.
He admitted that Simone’s style of play was ‘wearing him out’, because of the adaptation to a new style of play.
The way Simeone likes his teams to play football, isn’t how Turan enjoys it. In recent times, he has been content to not say anything, and keep going at it. However, he now feels it’s the right time for a change. The Turk has admitted he has received some economically impressive offers – one’s he may not be able to turn down.
Arda has made it crystal clear that he doesn’t have any issues with Atletico Madrid as a club, and is simply seeking new challenges. He feels both loved and wanted, and is grateful for everything Atleti have done for him. But when you know you’re time is up, you know you want to move on.
On their part, Atletico had no issues with giving Turan his demands. However, they do want him to stay and they feel he has tons to offer to the side. He wants a move, and as a club, they don’t want to stand in his way. Neither party want the situation to become difficult.
Both parties are now on the hunt for the best solution, for Turan.
