Kenedy finally completes his move to Chelsea

Chelsea have today announced that we have completed the signing of Kenedy from Fluminense.

Kenedy is a Brazilian left-footed forward who is versatile and can play in the centre of attack or on either flank.

The 19 year old forward has already represented Chelsea in our pre-season friendly vs Barcelona on our tour of North America after his former club Fluminense gave him permission to play. He will wear the number 16 shirt for us.

I am very happy to complete my transfer to Chelsea. It is an exciting time for me to join the English Premier League champions and I hope I can become an important player for the club. I very much enjoyed my time with the squad during pre-season and I am very grateful to Fluminense for allowing me this opportunity.

At the moment it is unclear whether Kenedy will stay with the first team and fight for a place or be loaned out.

If he was to stay it could see him have limited opportunities which could hamper his development. This could also see Cuadrado or Moses leave in order to play more first team football.

Loaning him out would be a better option in my opinion as he would get more regular game time. However it won’t see him play at an as high level or tempo as the Premier League. This is something he needs to get used to if he’s going to make it at Chelsea.
