Chelsea players out on International duties

With the Premier League on break as players move out to fulfill their international duties, Jose Mourinho will be left with a handful of players to train with, predominantly youth players.

The international break has come at the right time as Chelsea are struggling in the opening games of the season and this will be a smart way for the players to recharge their batteries.

Jose might also relish the opportunity presented in this break to refresh his tactics, as he aims at usurping Manchester City at the top of the table.

First team players like Gary Cahill and Eden Hazard are sure bets to start for their respective countries, but let’s see the full list of players who aren’t at Cobham (Chelsea’s training grounds) this morning:

Thibaut Courtois, Eden Hazard (Belgium): Hazard started and scored against Bosnia as Chelsea’s two Belgian players came up against Begovic’s Bosnia. Belgium won 3-1 on Thursday in the qualifiers of the Euro 2016. Belgium will face Wales in a battle to top Group B over the next few days.

Kurt Zouma (France): Zouma’s growing reputation as one of the world’s best young centre backs has awarded him a place in Didier Dechamp’s team to face Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal. Perhaps, if selected, it will be a great way to show the world how quickly he has developed under Jose Mourinho.

Diego Costa, Pedro, Cesc Fabregas, Cezar Azpilicueta (Spain): The quartet have been selected by Vicente Del Bosque, but not all will start the games Spain will be involved in. However expect minutes for each of them as they are counted as integral figures in Spain’s squad hierarchy. Spain will face Slovakia and Macedonia in Euro 2016 qualifiers.

Baba Rahman (Ghana): The 21-year old will have an opportunity to get some minutes he’s lacked in recent weeks after moving to  Stamford Bridge as he is expected to start Ghana’s 2017 AFCON game against Rwanda in Kigali on Saturday.

Willian (Brazil): Oscar and Ramires are still absent on international duty but Willian will get to be in the Dunga assembled squad. Brazil face Costa Rica on Saturday and USA on Tuesday in two international friendlies.

Gary Cahill (England):In Group E of the Euro qualifiers, England comfortably sit top and thanks to the contribution of Gary Cahill, the Three Lions can continue their fine qualification run. Cahill has been a starter at Chelsea and looks set to continue that run for England after Roy Hogson selected him for games against San Marino on Saturday and Switzerland on Tuesday.

Branislav Ivanovic, Nemanja Matic (Serbia): Serbia take on Armenia and France on Friday and Monday respectively and Ivanovic will have the opportunity to find form to return to Stamford Bridge with. The Serbian captain has been under par for Chelsea this season while Matic has rather been decent. Both will be expected to start the games and also improve on their form drastically by Chelsea fans.

Asmir Begovic (Bosnia): Chelsea’s second choice goalkeeper was in post as Bosnia conceded three goals on Thursday and is expected to keep his place in Bosnia’s game against Andorra in the next few days. Bosnia lie in fifth place in Group B of the qualifiers.

Bertrand Traore (Burkina Faso): The 19-year old will face Botswana on   Saturday in the 2017 AFCON qualifier.
