Four players could help fund Chelsea’s Alex Scott pursuit
football.london reports that Chelsea remain interested in the Bournemouth midfielder after making three offers in the summer, including a bid of £68 million. The report names Alejandro Garnacho, Jamie Gittens, Benoit Badiashile and Robert Sanchez as possible market options if the Blues look to bankroll a move.
Bournemouth are reported to be open to a January sale if they receive £100 million. That would set a club-record fee, surpassing the £62.5 million the Cherries received for Antoine Semenyo’s move to Manchester City.
Scott, 23, is an England international who, according to the report, pushed to leave during the summer and turned down new contract offers. There is no confirmed agreement with Chelsea; any move would depend on the clubs reaching a deal at the reported price.
The four names are possibilities, not approved sales
Garnacho has joined Aston Villa on loan. His parent club’s reported arrangement would become permanent for £42.5 million if specified criteria are met; he scored eight goals in 43 Chelsea appearances across all competitions. That potential fee would account for almost half of Scott’s reported valuation, but it is conditional rather than a completed sale.
Gittens arrived for an initial £48.5 million and scored once in 27 games during his debut season. football.london says he has played 56 minutes this season and cites a £22 million Transfermarkt valuation. Badiashile, meanwhile, is on loan at Napoli for the season, with a £23 million option to buy; he made 71 appearances for Chelsea over four seasons.
Sanchez is on a season-long loan at Como after Chelsea signed Emiliano Martinez. The report puts his Transfermarkt value at £13 million and says he is currently back-up to Jean Butez. Neither that valuation nor the figures attached to Gittens and Badiashile represent agreed transfer fees.
The report frames all four as potential ways Alonso could raise funds, not as players he has formally instructed Chelsea to sell. Badiashile was described as surplus to requirements earlier in the summer, while Garnacho has already left on loan; Gittens may face competition for a place from Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers, Pedro Neto and Estevao. Sanchez’s position is also uncertain, with Martinez and the club’s faith in 21-year-old Mike Penders part of the picture.
Alonso’s wider squad-reduction challenge is already a factor in Chelsea’s planning, but it does not confirm that these specific exits have been approved. The club’s senior-squad reduction and the difficulty of moving players on both shape the context for any potential sales.
For now, Chelsea would need to raise funds and Bournemouth would need to accept an offer that meets their reported valuation. The four situations remain possible routes, not a settled financing plan for a January deal.

Chelsea’s player-sales strategy could be relevant if the club moves to fund another major signing.
The Blues also face practical hurdles in moving players on, with squad rules and player protections adding to the challenge.
