Speaking after the victory against Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, Pedro is adamant that, despite the boo-boys that were ringing around before the game, fellow Spanish international Cesc Fabregas will not be forced to leave Chelsea.
Fabregas was one of the trio that received boos by a selection of Chelsea fans when their names were announced in the team, and when they were substituted. Fabregas was joined by fellow Spaniard Diego Costa as well as Belgian Eden Hazard.
The game against Sunderland was Chelsea’s first since the sacking of Jose Mourinho, with fans feeling that it wasn’t the fault of the manager as to why the Blues have had such a poor season, and the blame was set upon a selection of the first team.
Oscar and Branislav Ivanovic were also booed before the game, but the duo netted with a penalty and header respectively in the game and set Chelsea on their way to three points. For Cesc however, who knows how he’ll be able to win the fans back over.
It was difficult for him but he can get through this, said Pedro. He is strong mentally and very competitive.  I understand why the fans are so upset. It’s normal when the team and coach are in this position.Â
Jose Mourinho is a very good coach. It is a difficult situation for everyone. It was certainly difficult for the players, but it was an important win.Â
