Chelsea hope Drogba’s return will settle Eden Hazard

Chelsea are hoping that the return of Didier Drogba will help Eden Hazard settle, and keep him at Stamford Bridge.

It was reported on Tuesday that La Liga giants Real Madrid are weighing up a move for the Belgian winger now that Zinedine Zidane is now in charge. The Real Madrid legend has expressed how much you rates Hazard as a player.

It’s also understood that Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain expressed an interest in the former LOSC Lille man, but the 25-year-old hasn’t shown an interest in returning to French football, where he moved from in 2012 to join the West London side in a deal worth a reported £32m.

Last March, Hazard signed a contract extension with the current Premier League champions, which potentially can keep him at Stamford Bridge for a further five years.

This season, the winger has really struggled with form and received many critics for his performances whilst Jose Mourinho was in charge. A selection of Chelsea fans even have put the blame on Hazard for Mourinho’s sacking.

Hazard is expected to wait it and out and see who takes the permanent reigns at Chelsea seeing as Guus Hiddink is only there on a temporary basis. Diego Simeone and Pep Guardiola are at the top of Chelsea’s wishlist. However, the appointment of Didier Drogba could ease the situation, and even persuade Hazard to commit his future to the Blues.

The 37-year-old Ivorian striker is a popular name around Stamford Bridge with both the club and the fans. He was also a huge influence during his second stint with the Blues, where both the Capital One Cup and Premier League were won.
