Watford vs Chelsea – Match Preview

Preview

After Chelsea’s thrashing of MK Dons in the FA cup on Sunday, the fans mood quickly changed from rejoice to regret, as John Terry confirmed that the club aren’t planning to offer the experienced centre back a new contract. This move has proved that the club does not take their fans into consideration. Many Emenalo out banner will be out on show against Watford, a rightfully so but that is not we want to talk about at the moment, we want to talk about the up coming game at Vicarage road.

The last time Chelsea faced Watford was in a boxing day classic, which ended in 4 goal and a missed penalty (2-2). This was Guus Hiddink’s first game in charge, on his second spell as interim manager. The Dutchman is still unbeaten as Chelsea manager, and has only lost 1 game in his two spells at the club. Quique Sanchez Flores will look to continue Chelsea miserable week, by ending the longest unbeaten run of games in the Premier league, as of today.

Watford’s biggest threat is their strike force – Odion Ighalo & Troy Deeney – both strikers have contributed to 20 of Watford’s 27 goals this season. Whereas Chelsea’s biggest threat comes from the combination of Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa, the partnership that provided so many goals last season, is finally back in full flow.

Willian picked up a knock vs MK Dons late on and a late decision will be made on whether he plays tomorrow. Remy remains out with a calf injury, likewise with Falcao.
