Chelsea have been put on alert as AS Roma president Jim Pallotta has admitted that Miralem Pjanic could be sold for £30 million this summer, Sunday Express reports.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international had an impressive season in Italy collecting 12 goals and 13 assists to his name, making a total of 41 appearances in all competitions.
While the newly appointed Manchester United manager José Mourinho is determined to sign the 25-year-old midfielder this summer, the incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is not only keen to ensure a move for Pjanic, but also his team-mate Radja Nainggolan.
Despite Nainggolan admitting the transfer talks between Roma and Chelsea are underway, the club chief Pallotta denied that the Belgium international would be heading out of the Italian capital this summer, but didn’t rule out Pjanic’s departure should a club pay his £30m release clause.
I keep telling all of you that Nainggolan’s not going anywhere.
Pjanic is staying. If he has the buy-out and we can’t do anything about it, that it’s not my issue, but Nainggolan’s not going anyplace.
The Blues have also shown a wide interest on Antonio Rudiger, whose loan deal with the Italian outfit was made permanent only a week ago, but Pallotta isn’t a fan of the transfer reports.
I don’t have any intention of selling Rudiger either. I don’t know where these stories keep coming from. I like the team.
According to reports, the German defender’s agent was in London this week to negotiate the deal for the player ahead of his rumoured move to Chelsea.
