Antonio Conte targets yet another Juventus defender

With the current Azzurri manager set to join Chelsea after this summer’s Euro 2016, the Italian is trying to use his time with national side to lure one of the team’s key players to Stamford Bridge with him.

According to this summer’s transfer rumours Conte has made bolstering the Blues defence his primary target ahead of the 2016/17 campaign, and is now linked with a move for Juventus center-back Leonardo Bonucci, Gazzetta World reports.

Back in the day when Conte was in charge of Juventus, the 46-year-old manager built a good relationship with Bonucci, winning the Serie A title three times in three consecutive years with him.

Last season Bonucci was one of the Old Lady’s mainstay players, as the club only conceded 20 goals in their 38 games, with the defender registering 35 appearances to his name.

The Blues have also been linked with moves for wantaway full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner, and 23-year-old midfielder Stefano Sturaro.
