Incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte could sign as many as three new strikers this summer as he prepares to use the same attacking mentalized formation at the Blues as he does with Italy’s national side.
According to The Times, Conte is ready to move over the standard 4-3-3 formation used in Chelsea’s previous seasons and bring in the brand new 3-3-4 with two wingers and two strikers upfront.
This is likely to force Chelsea to sign new forwards during the transfer market, as Diego Costa’s situation at the club is uncertain following Atletico Madrid’s constant interest on re-signing the Brazilian Spain international, while underperformed loanees Alexandre Pato and Radamel Falcao will return to their parent clubs.
The Blues are also ready to listen offers for French striker Loic Remy, who is reportedly preparing to find an exit from Stamford Bridge this summer.
Since Chelsea could be left without a single striker of their own next campaign, the current Azzurri coach will be looking to bolster the attack with two to three new players.
Belgium international Romelu Lukaku has been identified as Conte’s main transfer target this summer, while the Blues have entered a bidding war for Juventus striker Alvaro Morata.
However the potential difficulties in signing the mentioned players have forced the Blues to look to another direction, with Liverpool flop Christian Benteke seemingly available for a move, Daily Star claims.
Lukaku could cost Chelsea a staggering £65 million, while Morata could only be available for around £47m due to Real Madrid’s £23m buy-back clause on the player.
The Times also add that the Blues are keen on offering Juan Cuadrado a second chance at the West London outfit after his impressive performances for his loan club Juventus last season.
