Chelsea turn attention on Mustafi after Bonucci move collapses

Antonio Conte had named Juventus center-back Leonardo Bonucci as one of his main targets this summer, but as the pursuit for the Italy international keeps on getting knocked down, Chelsea are looking for alternatives.

According to Express, Chelsea have turned their sights on Germany international Shkodran Mustafi, who has been starring for his club side Valencia with quality performances in La Liga.

The West London side have been in constant negotiations with Valencia trying to agree a deal for Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes, but as the talks seem to have no great result, Mustafi is seen as an attainable target.

The La Liga side reportedly want £25m for the 24-year-old, who used to play for Everton before being released by then manager David Moyes in 2012.

Although Valencia are in a financial crisis at the moment, the club are trying to hold on to Mustafi for as long as possible.
