Chelsea legend Ashley Cole believes new boss Antonio Conte will be a hit at Stamford Bridge and with the help of new signings, N’Golo Kanté and Michy Batshuayi, The Blues can climb back to win major silverware.
The ex-Chelsea man met his former team at Los Angeles on Wednesday, where the West London club are preparing to take on Liverpool at the first fixture of International Champions Cup.
Cole currently plays for MLS side LA Galaxy, and when he dropped by to say hi to his old team-mates, the 35-year-old was ‘disappointed’ by Chelsea’s last season performances, as he still claims to be a big fan of the club, he told Chelsea’s official website.
Of course I’m still paying attention! Last year was disappointing for me, speaking as a fan now, and speaking to some of the boys they were disappointed too.
But with the new manager, and with the signings that have come in, we will see something totally different and similar to the old Chelsea.
Chelsea have the chance to try new tactics against Liverpool tomorrow morning, as Conte has taken this pre-season very seriously, pulling everything out of his players during this summer’s training sessions.
