Remy returns to Chelsea from Palace loan

Loic Remy has had to call the halt on his Crystal Palace loan, as he has suffered a minor calf injury, forcing the Frenchman to travel from the other side of London back to Cobham to start recovering progress.

The Palace manager Alan Pardew told Sky Sports that the striker will at least miss their upcoming game against Premier League new boys Middlesbrough this Saturday, but doesn’t know how long exactly will Remy be out for.

Unfortunately, Loïc got injured on Monday and the seriousness of that, I don’t know.

But he’s not going to be involved this weekend, so it’s a bit of a blow.

He’s just got a little thigh strain. I don’t know how long he’s out for, but he’s had a scan on Tuesday morning and I’ll know more today.

The 29-year-old forward joined The Eagles on a season-long loan last month, as he found himself spending most of his time sitting on the bench after signing for Chelsea in 2014.

However, despite returning to Chelsea temporarily, Remy will be back in the Palace squad after recovering.

During his time at Stamford Bridge, Remy has scored eight goals in total of 32 appearances for the club.
