AS Roma ready to sell Chelsea target

AS Roma are ready to cash out on their young center-back Antonio Rudiger this January, according to Italian website Corriere Dello Sport.

The Germany international was linked with a move to Chelsea for a long time last summer, but after injuring his knee in the national side’s training ahead of Euro 2016, tranfer rumours disappeared until now.

Antonio Conte is known to be a big fan of the 23-year-old, and due to injury worries with current defenders John Terry and Kurt Zouma, the Italian could be planning to bid for Rudiger once the January transfer window opens.

Rudiger was impressive on his debut season for the Serie A outfit after being loaned out by Stuttgart, as he played 30 league games scoring two goals in the process.

AS Roma decided to make the player’s contract permanent at the end of last season, but are now ready to sell him with Chelsea expected to meet the club’s demands to sign the rising star.
