CM: Cesc Fabregas

Sevilla boss denies interest in innovative Chelsea midfielder

Sevilla manager Jorge Sampaoli has ruled out a move for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas in the January transfer window, report the Express.

When asked about the possibility of taking Fabregas back to La Liga, the Express quote Sampaoli in saying: “I know he’s an important player, but I’m not thinking about him.”

The Express also report that the 29-year-old has been attracting interest from West Ham, but he will reject a move to the Hammers.

Fabregas has fallen off the radar under the stewardship of Antonio Conte. He has found it difficult to push through the formidable duo Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante and into the starting eleven.

It appears that he will have to leave Stamford Bridge in search of first-team football, but finding a team that match his ambitions and are willing to pay his high wages is appearing to be difficult.

We await further developments on the Fabregas saga, but after over 100 appearances for the club – it appears his time in blue may well be coming to an end.
