Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has acted coy about the potential return of Blues legend Frank Lampard, who recently announced to be leaving New York City FC at the end of the MLS campaign in January.
It’s been widely speculated whether the former England captain is set to retire from his footballing career and start managing or coaching in England. Regardless of the mystery, which Lampard himself has told to reveal ‘soon’, a return to Stamford Bridge could be on the cards.
However, Conte hasn’t said anything decisive yet, but it’s clear that he’s been thinking about the move as he was interviewed after Chelsea’s latest 1-0 win over Middlesbrough on Sunday.
Frank Lampard has been a great player, a fantastic player for Chelsea. He won a lot with this team. But now, for me, he’s still playing and for this reason I don’t know his future.
