Jose Mourinho planning £40m swoop for Chelsea winger

According to this morning’s reports from Daily Star, the ex-Chelsea boss José Mourinho is preparing to raid his former side with a January offer for Blues winger Willian.

The Brazilian has fallen out of favour under Antonio Conte as Pedro has taken the 28-year-old’s place upfront through some great performances. Should the Spaniard’s thriving form resume, it’ll be difficult for Willian to break into the first-team, and, well, that’s where Mourinho steps in.

The Portuguese is a huge fan of the £40m-rated Willian, who hasn’t started a game since Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over Hull City at the start of the month, with injuries – and the tragic loss of his mother – have restricted his chances.

It would be an infuriating view to see our last season’s Player of the Year go and join a rival club – especially because he’d be reuniting with the team’s ex-boss – but it has potential to happen. Chelsea have done previous business with the Red Devils before, after United signed Juan Mata for £37.1m in January 2014. And we all remember, that wasn’t a nice view either.
