Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will consider running down his contract amid interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid, according to The Sun.
The Sun report that Courtois has just 18 months remaining on his current deal, with Chelsea only prepared to offer him an extension with his current terms. Â The tabloid believe that the Belgian has told his friends that he will consider his future at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
Courtois has been enjoying his football under Antonio Conte having conceded just one goal in his last seven Premier League appearances. In that period, the 24-year-old has kept six clean-sheets, taking his total to seven for the season. That tally is three more than his nearest challenger in the Premier League, and cannot be bettered by any goalkeeper in any of Europe’s top five leagues.
Chelsea are currently top of the table after seven wins on the bounce. If Antonio Conte leads his side to Premier League glory this campaign, it may well convince Courtois to stay put.
