After defeating Tottenham by two goals to one on Saturday evening, Chelsea maintained their position at the top of the Premier League table.
Harry Redknapp was keen to discredit Antonio Conte’s side on BT Sport, but here at the stats that prove that Chelsea absolutely deserve to be the current league leaders.
Beginning with the team collectively; Chelsea have won all seven of their last seven Premier League games, scoring 17 and conceding just once. We have conceded just ten goals in the league all-season, no team has conceded fewer. Our tally of 29 goals scored can also only be bettered by Liverpool.
Individually, the players have also been remarkable this campaign so far. Diego Costa has scored ten Premier League goals so far this season, a tally that can only be matched by Sergio Aguero. Aguero has, however, had 14 more attempts at goal. Thibaut Courtois is also leading the race for the golden glove having kept seven clean-sheets, his nearest challenger has just four.
There is one crucial stat that matters the most, though – Chelsea have collated 31 points this season, more than any other team.
