Chelsea star could let his contract expire following Real Madrid interest

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is reportedly ready to reject a possible deal extension and let his contract run out at Stamford Bridge ahead of a move to LA Liga giants Real Madrid, The Sun claims.

The Belgian has been enjoying his life below the Blues defence as he’s helped his side to a seven-game winning streak in the league, where Chelsea are currently placed first. The former Atletico Madrid keeper hasn’t made it a secret that he’s desired to return to Spain one day, and with two years left in his contract with the West London club, all doors are open for him.

Zinedine Zidane, who currently has Keylor Navas as his first-choice keeper in the team, has previously browsed through other options in Manchester United’s David De Gea, but is yet to make a move for Courtois.

Chelsea will be trying to retain the 25-year-old at the club alongside Victor Moses and Diego Costa, who have also been linked with moves to La Liga recently.
