After inquiring the Englishman’s price from Nottingham Forest, promising midfielder Matty Cash is reportedly available for a fee of £5m, the Daily Star claims.
However, the West London club aren’t willing to offer more than £1.5m for the 19-year-old. According to The People a compromised deal could be made should Chelsea agree to loan Cash back for the remainder of the season.
Cash has become an important player for Forest as he broke into the first-team after a successive loan spell at Dagenham and Redbridge last campaign.
He’s got a nice, cheeky way about him and he moves about the pitch really well.
Technically he’s very good and he’s got the ability to break lines from midfield and get into the box.
I think he’s one that will be able score goals.
– Academy manager Gary Brazil on Matty Cash, Daily Star
Cash has a contract until 2019 with the Championship side after extending his deal by three years last season, but it’s unlikely that he’d be a player Chelsea are in need of. Young starlets Nathaniel Chalobah and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are currently carrying the future on their back and it’s unlikely to change through a Championship youngster.
