Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel is reportedly set for a January exit from Stamford Bridge, as he’s interested in linking up with ex-Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas at Chinese top-flight club Shanghai SIPG.
The Nigeria international’s agent John Shittu recently said that a transfer is on the cards for Mikel, as the 29-year-old is still yet to make an appearance under Antonio Conte this season.

Now London Evening Standard claim that the Chinese Super League side have attracted Mikel’s interest by offering him an ambitious £170,000-a-week salary – nearly £100K more than he currently makes in a week at the West London club.
Mikel has also been linked with a move to France, Spain and Turkey, as Marseille, Valencia and Besiktas are all keen to clinch a deal for the Chelsea ace’s signature. His current deal with the Blues expires at the end of the season, which gives Mikel the right to negotiate a deal with a new club as soon as this January.
