Real Madrid have reportedly identified Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois as a summer transfer target with initial talks over the move being already held, Spanish media outlet OndaCero suggests.
The Belgium international has returned to his best form this season as he has already kept nine clean sheets this term, helping his side to reach the top of the league before Christmas.
Courtois recently insisted to be happy to stay at Stamford Bridge after some sketchy transfer speculation linking him to a La Liga return to either one of the two top Madrid clubs.
However, according to the source, Chelsea could struggle to keep hold of their star man, as the player is still keen to go back in Spain at some point of his career should we believe his words from last season.
The Blues have also expressed wide interest in Real Madrid misfit James Rodriguez ahead of January’s transfer window, but fear that splashing the cash on the Colombian might force them to sell their own players in some other vital position – like the goalkeeper.
