According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are keen to loan out Ruben Loftus-Cheek after the 20 year old failed to break into the first team this term.
Hopes were high for the English player under Antonio Conte, who gave him a few minutes early in the season, but since the switch to a 343 formation opportunities have been limited for him.
As one of the few Chelsea youngsters who has yet to go for a spell elsewhere, it makes sense that the club want to try getting Ruben some experience – preferably in the Premier League. But this is easier said than done. Too often in the recent past we’ve seen players go on loan to teams where they aren’t guaranteed a start. It is important that if no guaranteed starting spots are offered to the 20 year old in the Premier League then he is sent to a club in a lower division or abroad where he will play. At this stage of his career, getting time on the field must take priority over the quality of his teammates.
