Chelsea target offered new contract as big clubs close in

Chelsea target Federico Bernardeschi will be shortly  offered a new contract by his club Fiorentina, according to news from Calcio Mercato.

The attacking midfielder has had a breakthrough year at the Viola, establishing himself as one of the top Italian talents in the league. Inter and Juventus have already signalled their interest, and won’t let him leave the league without a fight.

Antonio Conte knows the 22 year old well, having called him up for his Italy squads on several occasions, and had apparently wanted to bring him to the Bridge to join his revolution.

If Bernardeschi signs a new deal it won’t make signing him totally impossible, but it would make him considerably more expensive, and would certainly make a deal less likely.

With the January window about to open, the Blues would be well served to get a bid in as soon as possible to force the player to make some serious decisions about his future.
