Antonio Conte monitoring Swansea striker to bolster the attack

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wants to sign Swansea striker Fernando Llorente to bolster his attacking ranks next month as he sees the Spaniard as a suitable fit for the Blues squad.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Conte has suggested Llorente to Roman Abramovich and introduced the idea to make a January bid for the experienced hitman, who is well known by the Italian from their time together at Juventus.

Llorente departed from La Liga side Sevilla only this summer to join Swansea, and has been one of the standout players in the struggling Welsh side, who are currently sitting tight in the relegation zone and sacked their second manager of the season this week.

The Swans are unlikely to want to sell their star man, who has scored six goals this term, but that doesn’t stop Chelsea from expressing their interest on him.

Chelsea signed Michy Batshuayi from Marseille this summer for the back-up role of star man Diego Costa, but it’s understood that the 23-year-old Belgian is finding it tough to fit into the Italian’s Blues system, as he’s still yet to make a start in the Premier League despite signing five months ago.
