Antonio Conte has been linked with a move back to Italy, as his scintillating success at Stamford Bridge has attracted a lot of interest from other big clubs in Europe.
The former Azzurri boss has guided the Blues seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table with nine games left to play this term, and in the best case scenario he could win both the Premier League and the FA Cup on his debut season in England.
Italian clubs like Inter Milan and Juventus have then set their sights onto the manager, plotting to offer a deal for the 47-year-old which – according to Italian agent Federico Pastorello – would be a dream switch for the ex-Juventus midfielder.
However, Conte disagrees with the speculation and has in today’s press conference confirmed that he’s going to stay at Chelsea and remain here for a at least until his current contract expires.
“I don’t know why this person has spoken about me.
I think that I stay here and I repeat to stay here and this is the most important thing. I don’t like when to listen to other people to speak for me.
I don’t know why, but I think that I can think that it’s normal to try to involve my name in this situation, because I worked in Italy. I think that they want to come back for me in Italy.
I have two more years of contract with Chelsea and this is the truth.
The present now is more important than the future for all. I prefer to be focused on the present and finish this season not only a good season, a great season.”
