Former Chelsea midfielder Oscar had an upsetting evening for his new side Shanghai SIPG in the Asian Champions League, as the Brazilian ace failed two penalty takes inside just fifteen minutes.
The Chinese Super League side were trailing the game by a goal to nil against Japanese side Urawa Reds had their first equalizing chance from eleven metres out, as Oscar was taken down inside the penalty area.
He brought himself up to take the penalty himself, but his effort was struck too softly and the keeper – guessing the right way – quite easily guided the ball away from the net.
Just 15 minutes later Oscar was given a second chance from the spot following a hand-ball from a Urawa Reds defender’s mistake, but this time the former Blue fired the ball high and hard all the way to row Z.
Since his £51m January switch to the Far East, Oscar has scored two goals in nine games for the Chinese side.
