West Ham star wants to quit club for Chelsea

West Ham star Michail Antonio’s relationship with the club’s board has reportedly fallen to a very poor level and the England international will be seeking a move out of the London Stadium this summer – with Chelsea favourites to land the player, The Times reports.

The Hammers have slowly dragged themselves towards the relegation with poor performances week in week out, and could be facing more bad news with their key forward Antonio now a strong exit bound.

Antonio, whose season is already over following an unfortunate hamstring injury, is feeling like West Ham are taking his consistent performances for granted having not agreed to offer him a pay rise to his current deal at the club.

Antonio currently earns less than fresh signing Jose Fonté and Robert Snodgrass.

The 27-year-old is very versatile and can play both as a full-back and a winger, making him a perfect fit to Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 formation into the wing-back position.

Chelsea approached the player last January and could step in with a new bid this summer, but with Antonio still having four years left on his contract at the club, West Ham will be able to get a strong amount of cash from selling him.
