Chelsea vs Middlesbrough – Match Preview

It’s the first game of the last four ones left, and following Spurs’ 1-0 loss to West Ham, we need a win from just two of them to clinch the Premier League title for the fifth time in the history of the club.

While Chelsea are hoping to take another huge step towards the title, Boro are determined to beat the odds and claim huge three points for their side to help them avoid relegation.

It’s a huge match coming up tonight, and the Bridge will be at its loudest as the Blues players step onto the field for the third-last time this campaign.

Match Details

Kick-off at 20.00 UK Time at Stamford Bridge. TV broadcast live from Sky Sports 1.

Injury News

Chelsea could be without key players David Luiz (groin) and N’Golo Kante (hamstring) in tonight’s game, as Antonio Conte revealed few days ago that they’re suffering from slight issues that could force them to see out the game from the sidelines.

Kante is likely to be replaced by Cesc Fabregas in the middle of the field, while Nathan Ake could step in for the Brazilian.

Middlesbrough have bigger worries ahead of the game as Daniel Ayala, Gaston Ramirez, Grant Leadbitter, Victor Valdes and Adlene Guarioula are all major doubts for the clash.

One to watch

Alvaro Negredo – The former Manchester City striker is currently the team’s top goalscorer with nine goals to his name and four assists on top of that, and when he really is on the mood for it, he has the ability to tear up the opposition defence apart.

He certainly did that last against the Citizens last weekend when the 31-year-old scored a goal and assisted once in Boro’s huge 2-2 draw at home against Pep Guardiola’s side.

Recent league form

Chelsea : W W L W W (Goals for: 12 Goals against: 8)

Middlesbrough: D W L L D (Goals for: 4 Goals against: 8)

Middlesbrough 0-1 Chelsea (Diego Costa) – Premier League, November 2016

Middlesbrough 0-2 Chelsea (Ramires, Moses) – FA Cup, February 2013

Match Prediction

With two cleansheets from the last two games against Boro, I believe we can make it three out of three, as we’re going to win very comfortably 2-0 claiming the huge three points from the match.
