Chelsea’s veteran centre-back John Terry has revealed he could be retiring from his footballing career at the end of the season instead of joining any of the several clubs interested in signing him this summer.
The 36-year-old defender’s contract at Stamford Bridge won’t be renewed at the end of the season and he will be leaving the club after 22 years in the Blues outfit.

Terry made his likely penultimate appearance for Chelsea last night when Antonio Conte’s already-crowded Premier League champions cruised into a emphatic 4-3 win over Watford at the Bridge. The former England skipper netted the Blues’ opening goal and has now scored a Premier League goal in every year between 2000 and 2017.
When interviewed by Sky Sports after the match, Terry claimed that he is yet to make a determined decision on his future, as he’s yet to receive a suitable offer that would keep him away from retiring.
“I’ve still not ruled out Sunday being my last game and retiring from football. It depends, if the right offer comes along I will sit down and consider it with my family – whether that’s here, abroad, or wherever that may be.
Genuinely I haven’t made any decisions of yet and I’m evaluating all my options at the moment.”

At least Bournemouth and West Bromwich have shown major interest on Terry, with clubs around the world (USA, Arabia) also monitoring Terry’s future plans.
