Antonio Conte set to receive €20m if he’s sacked

Antonio Conte is negotiating a contract extension with Chelsea that will see the Italian manager receive a massive pay increase and tie him to the club in the long term.

These details come from the site of Gianluca Di Marzio, who is generally at vaguely credible especially when it comes to Italian matters. He claims that Conte will sit down with Roman Abramovich after the FA Cup final.

According to Di Marzio, Conte will sign a 5 year deal that has already been agreed upon in principle. His salary will be “11 million” and his contract will contain a clause that means he will earn a 20m payoff if he is sacked. The currency is not mentioned in the copy.

A win on Saturday would mean a debut season double for Conte who last week won the LMA manager award, but even a loss against Arsenal would not take the shine off a superb debut campaign, and Roman Abramovich will be keen to lock his man down as soon as possible.
