Roman Abramovich ‘no longer on talking terms’ with Antonio Conte

Spanish website Marca has made a huge claim that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and first-team manager Antonio Conte would no longer be on ‘talking terms’.

The media has been all over Conte lately following a few dips in Chelsea’s form, mainly linking the manager to get sacked prematurely from his Blues job. Different sources have all explained the story differently, but all of them imply the same thing; Conte will be sacked before the end of the season.

It’s all ‘bullsh*t’ according to the Italian himself, and that’s what the fans also believe. Marca’s recent story claiming that Abramovich has already decided to replace Conte before the end of the campaign should thus be taken as pinch of salt as well.

According to the source Abramovich has also ended the talking terms between former Chelsea managers like Carlo Ancelotti, Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink. With such claim also very unlikely to be true, it would be stupid to make anything out of the report.

Chelsea lost to AS Roma 3-0 on Tuesday night after an abysmal performance in the Champions League group stage fixture. However the Blues sit firmly on the second place in the Group C, and are still in the chase for the Premier League title this season, which should mean Conte is not on his way out yet.

Of course, a response is needed on Sunday when Chelsea host Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. A win over Mourinho’s side would really prove the papers wrong!
