Alvaro Morata misses Spain training session with injury

According to Marca Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata was sidelined in Spain’s national team’s training session due to a toe injury.

The 25-year-old’s toe pain was so critical he had to miss the team training, but was luckily able to do something on his own at the gym.

Morata may have pulled out of the national side’s first training session this week, but he’s unlikely to be sidelined for their first friendly on Friday. Spain will be hosting Costa Rica then and pay a visit to World Cup 2018 hosts Russia next week’s Tuesday.

Chelsea have five Spanish first-team players in their side; Cesar Azpilicueta, Marcos Alonso, Cesc Fabregas, Pedro and Morata, but only the latter received the call-up for the national team this international break.

The break will end next week and Chelsea will return to action on Saturday for a Premier League clash away at West Bromwich.
