Celtic’s season is coming to an end, and once again a squad was named this week with Chelsea loanee Charly Musonda nowhere to be seen.

The young Belgian’s loan to Scotland looked like a clever move to get him plenty of football in an attacking team under a good coach, but in reality it’s been a disaster.
After coming off the bench a few times, Musonda has played less and less, and it really looks like his time is up there now after this latest snub.

As Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur points out, this latest failed move means that Musonda is heading into his mid-twenties with just a handful of senior starts to his name. It’s starting to look more and more likely that he’s just not going to cut it at the top level, despite the abundance of talent he’s clearly blessed with.
It’s a shame for Charly, and for Chelsea too.
