Chelsea leave Maurizio Sarri to rot in his Napoli contract after Blues insist they won’t pay his release clause

Chelsea are forcing Maurizio Sarri to find alternative ways of finding a way out his contract with Napoli after the Blues reportedly told his representatives they are unwilling to pay his £7 million release clause.

According to the Guardian, Chelsea’s top officials have informed Sarri of their unwillingness to part ways with the hefty amount of money to bail him out of his contract with the Italian giants, that frees him up to take up the reins at Stamford Bridge.

With the deadline fro the payment of the release clause passed, Chelsea are now forced to enter negotiations with Napoli’s chiefs for the release of the Italian coach. However with Chelsea set to pay Antonio Conte and his technical team in excess of £9 million as compensation for his sack this summer as per the Telegraph, the Premier League giants are unwilling to pay another amount for another manager, before his signing on fee and salaries are discussed.

Napoli have hired Carlo Ancelotti as new head coach but are ready to keep Sarri for the remainder of his two years deal. Sarri is also reportedly keen on joining Chelsea this summer but with Chelsea’s decision, Sarri will be forced to explore his own options to free himself from the contract at Napoli.

In Guardian’s report, Chelsea have left Sarri to ‘scrutinize’ whether there is a ‘case for constructive dismissal’ against Napoli’ and the Blues are ready to wait out the process when it goes to FIFA.
