Chelsea make first official €60m bid for Alisson with his proposed wages also revealed in latest report

Chelsea are looking to do shrewd business before the World Cup begins next week in Russia after submitting their first official bid of €60m for AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker according to Italy’s local newspaper Pagine Romaniste.

The goalkeeper has become an in-demand player this summer after his breakthrough season at the Stadio Olympico. He has attracted several top clubs including Real Madrid, Liverpool and now Chelsea who seem keen on replacing Thibaut Courtois following the Belgium international’s reluctance to pen a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea do not want to be left stranded after the World Cup when Courtois decides against signing a new long term deal the Blues presented in December, as per Goal, and have tabled their first offer for Alisson. Chelsea are offering Alisson £150k per week pre-tax, which is considered far below the offer on the table for Courtois to pen this summer as per Pagine Romaniste’s report.

Alisson has enjoyed a breakthrough season with Roma, playing all but two games in all competitions including the Champions League, a competition he starred in.

He is regarded Brazil’s number one goalkeeper and should the Selecao enjoy a long tournament, the shot stopper will attract more big clubs and his asking price will sky-rocket.
