Chelsea may have received a boost in their chase of a top striker this summer with one for their supreme targets Gonzalo Higuain admitting to Premier League dream.
The Blues will have the opportunity to sign him if they wish after the player’s admission. Although Chelsea have Olivier Giroud in their ranks to support last summer signing Alvaro Morata, Chelsea are still in the hunt for another top striker to boost their chances of competing for laurels next season.
A price tag of €60m has reportedly been quoted to Chelsea’s chiefs in order to seal the deal to land the Argentina international next summer. Juventus are adamant in recouping the amount they spent on Higuain when they signed him from Napoli in 2015.
The links to the Premier League will not stop despite Maurizio Sarri, who wanted to reunite with him in London, has discontinued talks with Chelsea. However, Higuain says he ‘likes’ the Premier League amid talk of joining the Blues.
“I have a contract with Juventus and no-one has told me any different. I’m very calm, my soul remains in Turin for now. The Premier League? Of course I like it, it’s the most beautiful league in the world and I’d like to play in it.”
