Chelsea have entered the race to sign Barcelona target Clement Lenglet after Sport revealed Blues chiefs have began negotiations for the center back.
The Sevilla defender is one of the most respected defenders in the Spanish La Liga and has attracted a host of top clubs this summer. His performances in the Spanish top flight have been top notch, prompting the Catalan giants to enter negotiations with Sevilla. But before their talks get far, English side Chelsea have emerged as another suitor for the Frenchman’s services.
The Sevilla defender is now a target for the Blues who have began talks for him. According to the report by Sport, Roman Abramovich’s second in command, Maria Garanovskaia has initiated talks and enquired about the possibility of snapping up the player this summer.
Manchester United and Liverpool are also in contention for the defender and if Chelsea want to secure a first signing of the summer, they need to act fast.
