Chelsea and France striker Olivier Groud would be fit for his country’s World Cup opening game against Australia after sustaining a serious head injury on Sunday.
The striker has been one of France’s most reliable player in the last few months scoring and breaking records for the Les Bleus. His contributions recently earned him a ticket to Russia for the World Cup but that was almost taken away from him in nasty clash in France’s international friendly game against United States of America.
Giroud clashed with Chelsea center back Matt Miazga in the second half of the game that left him holding his head while bleeding. The situation looked serious and was immediately taken off by France coach Didier Deschamps.
Olivier Giroud received 6 stitches after a head-clash in tonight's 1-1 draw with the USA for a 5cm wound. L'Équipe report that he must have also suffered a concussion.

Deschamps now says everything will be okay for the target man, who signed for Chelsea in January from Arsenal and could line up against Australia in their first game at the World Cup.
