Borussia Dortmund make final decision on possible signing of Chelsea striker this summer

It looks as though Chelsea fans will not see anymore of their striker Alvaro Morata’s connection to Borussia Dortmund this summer after the German club refused to get involved in any transfer for the striker.

Morata has been reportedly angling for a move outside Stamford Bridge and after Juventus refused any possible connections with him in the past via the Telegraph, there was a resurfaced rumor that Morata may leave Chelsea this summer, only that this time for a German Bundesliga club.

Dortmund lost Pierre Emerick Aubameyang to Arsenal in January, while taking Michy Batshuayi on loan for six months – although that stint was cut short after the Belgium striker picked up a serious injury.

While in the market for a new striker this transfer window, Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc is not looking Morata’s way. The total wage and transfer fee may have put the German giants off and are not going to make a bid for the former Juventus and Real Madrid forward.

“I would say that Morata is too expensive – without knowing exact sums. Of course, we have candidates in mind”.
