Chelsea were due to announce Maurizio Sarri this week to replace departing coach Antonio Conte but the announcement has been delayed yet again.
The Italian tactician has been replaced by Carlo Ancelloti at Napoli after last season ended and despite not being the main man in command of the Napoli squad now, Sarri has not been released by his club to join another side.
Chelsea have been the closest in negotiations for him in recent months, but although the Blues are desperate for his arrival, the Italian Serie A side are said to be holding on to their word of being negotiated with before a release.
Via Football Italia, Sport journalist Raffaele Auriemma spoke on Radio CRC Premium that Sarri’s deal could be in doubt.
Auriemma says Sarri’s lawyers have advised the coach not to make the trip to London, as that could begin a legal battle with Napoli.
Chelsea are expected to pay €5m to Napoli to pave way for President Aurelio De Laurentiis.
