“France loves this little man” – N’Golo Kante eulogized by French newspapers after shackling Lionel Messi in World Cup game

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has been praised in his country for his immense contribution to the France national team at the Russia 2018 World Cup.

The diminutive midfielder has been very instrumental to France’s progress to the quarter final, following his impressive displays in the group stages, winning two Man of the Match awards in the process.

Kante was also the main reason Lionel Messi could not get things going his own way in the game at the round of 16 stage. He marked Messi as the Argentina icon covered every blade of grass on Saturday.

After his exploits, L’Equipe, one of France’s leading newspapers headlined Kante saying “France loves this little man” as covered by the Daily Mail, despite Paris Saint Germain forward Kylian Mbappe registering two goals to send the French side into the last eight.

Kante, currently being coveted by PSG, is one of Chelsea’s most efficient players and arguably the most consistent player in the squad now.
