Chelsea agree £53m fee to sign top striker to replace Alvaro Morata this summer

Chelsea have agreed a deal of £53 million with Juevntus to sign their top striker Gonzalo Higuain this summer according to Italian outlet Sport Mediaset.

The Mirror quote the Italian news outlet as saying the Blues have had an agreement in place with the Turin giants on the fee for the Argentina international for a move to Stamford Bridge in this transfer window.

The World Cup has delayed a number of transfers by top clubs, but after Argentina’s dream of winning a third trophy ended in the round of 16 by France, their stars on the move at club level will be available for transfer negotiations now.

Now via Metro, Mediaset says Chelsea have agreed to pay straight cash for the striker instead of the swap deal involving Alvaro Morata, initially reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

His arrival at Chelsea will signal the end of Morata’s days at the club after the former Real Madrid man failed to reach the heights expected of him upon his arrival at the club last summer.

Higuain has scored 76 goals in the last three days in the Italian Serie A and is considered one of the best strikers on the planet despite his failing at international level.
