“It’s good for me to play in the team” – Pedro reveals why he will blossom under Maurizio Sarri’s attacking philosophy

Chelsea winger Pedro has made a telling revelation about Maurizio Sarri’s attacking philosophy at Chelsea, insisting he may be about to show his real form at the club.

Pedro arrived from Barcelona in 2015, hoping to break into Jose Mourinho’s setup at the time, when Willian and Eden Hazard were the main wingers flying in Mourinho 4-2-3-1 formation.

Antonio Conte’s maiden season gave Chelsea fans a good opportunity to see Pedro rising to the Premier League demands to make a name for himself but last season saw a downturn in his performances. Pedro has looked a pale shadow of himself and has been almost missing in Chelsea games throughout last season.

In Sarri’s first game as a Chelsea head coach in a pre-season friendly against Perth Glory in Australia, Pedro scored the only goal of the game as Chelsea secured victory, while putting in a great shift on the right wing.

The Spain international says this may be his time to shine.

“When you move with freedom to go inside or outside, it’s good for me to play in the team. The result is only 1-0 but we created a lot of chances and played very well.

It’s a pity the final result, but the game is very good.”
