Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley has told the club’s fans to be expectant of great things from their new manager Maurizio Sarri, after the Italian’s strategies in training.
The former Napoli boss has been acclaimed for his attacking philosophy and that is seen first hand by the current Chelsea players with him in training each day of the week, as they prepare for next season in pre-season.
After Chelsea’s first game in the off season in Australia against Perth Glory, the Chelsea payers can attest to the fact that Sarri is cooking something special for the club’s fans in the months or years to come.
On show in the Far Eastern country was Jorginho, who tasted minutes for the first time as a Chelsea player and ahead of him was Barkley, fully fit after his injury woes and rearing to go. Although only one goal was scored in the game, Barkley is in awe of what Sarri is teaching them.
“It has been very interesting. The style that he wants us to play, it is really exciting and very attacking, as well as being very organised.
We have been understanding what he has been getting across in training, but the more we do it in training, the more we get used to it and I can see from the training sessions that this season is going to be very exciting.”
